Oh !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! ?
oooh...thats embarrassing.
EDIT: turns out its quiet the popular little wallflower. As a show of respect (and after realizing that it still exists and that its in my price range used) I shall add it to the test drive pile for tomorrow and Saturday

It sorta kinda serves a purpose. Especially now that the Prius makes folks spontaneously vomit if they look at it.
![]() 08/18/2016 at 17:43 |

I’d DD/rally it if you wont :]
![]() 08/18/2016 at 17:43 |

It’s actually quite good.
![]() 08/18/2016 at 17:44 |

It’s actually better than the Prius: it handles better (the chassis has been really well-tuned, for some reason), it’s waaay more comfortable and it looks better...from the back, anyway.
![]() 08/18/2016 at 17:47 |

dd? sure. Rally? not at 0-60 in 10 seconds and non-defeatable traction control/stability control you wont.
![]() 08/18/2016 at 17:47 |

its a nice looking, well made flop like the CR-Z
![]() 08/18/2016 at 17:48 |

Interior isn’t bad. The HS was the forgotten one.
![]() 08/18/2016 at 17:48 |

More comfortable and better looking than a Prius (Not saying much, but still), vastly more reliable than an A3 or CLA/GLA/B-Class, and more efficient than any of its German rivals as well.
Really, what’s not to like?
The interior is great too.
I can’t wait till we get an updated one based off the new Prius.

No arguments on looks and ride superiority, but as a package its a bit of a turd. so/so mileage, slow as a dog, allows for zero fun.
![]() 08/18/2016 at 17:50 |
|
Yeah, the HS needed to die the death and the interior is nice, but the nice interiors start at pile up the payments on a tiny, slow little car with only so/so milage.

My friend uses one as a company car. Not bad inside. He actually fits a lot of gear in the back with the seats down.
![]() 08/18/2016 at 17:54 |

I thought you meant this. Which they also still apparently make.
![]() 08/18/2016 at 17:54 |

Just like a Landcruiser then.
![]() 08/18/2016 at 17:54 |

Don’t you mean this one?
![]() 08/18/2016 at 17:56 |

Can’t argue with that.
Funny enough, in Brazil they introduced the CT before the Prius.

The one I saw at last year’s auto show had an F-Sport badge. Like... really? How much sport could it possibly have?
![]() 08/18/2016 at 17:58 |
|
well no, The land cruisers mileage is WELL below so/so, its actually pretty darn quick (hell, even mine is faster to 60 than this thing) and there is MUCH fun to be had!
![]() 08/18/2016 at 17:59 |
|
No its a statement “F[&@$] sport! Im all about economy!”
![]() 08/18/2016 at 18:18 |

Where is the fun in just CRUISING everywhere? No risks or sense of uncertainty involved (unless you suck at driving/navigating and die).
![]() 08/18/2016 at 18:26 |

no risk or sense of uncertainty involved....
![]() 08/18/2016 at 18:36 |

This car would be nice with the 2.0t instead of the hybrid powertrain.
![]() 08/18/2016 at 18:36 |

These are all over the place here in Portland, Orygun.
![]() 08/18/2016 at 18:37 |

yup. So much faster, not much loss of mileage, much more fun.
![]() 08/18/2016 at 18:48 |

I’m sure there’s people that would move to Lexus after Audi not giving them a gas powered second gen A3 hatchback. That entry level luxury segment is hot right now.
![]() 08/18/2016 at 19:28 |

I see an early black one regularly. It was a good looking car before the spindle grill. Bet it would make a comfy, efficient commuter.
![]() 08/18/2016 at 22:24 |

The problem with the mileage is the aerodynamics, really - don’t have the Prius roofline, you won’t get Prius mileage.
![]() 08/18/2016 at 22:26 |
|
Depends on city vs. highway, really. Spend most of your time on the highway, the 8AR-FTS would do quite well. City driving, the hybrid powertrain will destroy any non-hybrid.
![]() 08/18/2016 at 22:29 |

Although, unlike the CR-Z, the CT is at least usable as a daily driver by more of the population, and it can act as a premium hatch for those who don’t care about sporting pretensions.
![]() 08/18/2016 at 22:33 |
|
I suspect we won’t .
There’s been rumors that it’s going to be replaced by a crossover - I’d guess something based on the C-HR (shorter wheelbase, much shorter body crossover, than the RAV4).
Think GLA250/QX30 competitor.
So, technically based off the Gen 4 Prius (it is TNGA-C), but also not. (Kinda like how the RAV4 is based on the Corolla.)
![]() 08/18/2016 at 22:51 |

Oh, and this is apparently a concept sketch of it:
http://www.autoevolution.com/news/next-lexu…
Yeah, that looks like a C-HR-based vehicle.
Edit: http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-c…
So that’s indicating that the LF-SA will become the CT’s successor. LF-SA would become something along the lines of... SA 200h?
http://www.lexus.com/concept/LFSA/
And that is terrible looking:
And it’s also tiny - smaller even than a Yaris.
Edit 2: Oh, that’s what this is. It’s probably an Aygo - most of the dimensions match.

Now do this with an Alfa 33 4x4.
![]() 08/19/2016 at 09:57 |

While it would be fun to try, on this trip it would have made it about 7 miles in before it certainly would be high centered. No risk of it making the entire 250 miles that’s for sure
![]() 08/19/2016 at 10:28 |

Damn I remember the CT, but I honestly forget this car exists within five minutes of seeing them.
![]() 08/19/2016 at 12:29 |

I actually like the CT hybrid. I couldn’t find one in the right price rage around me, otherwise I would have one by now. Yes its slow.. but it would be a commuter car and if I wanted to go fast my other car in the garage would suffice.Bought a Mini Clubman S instead..
